Reducing costs in every oil extraction stage is a task that Oil Company and Oilfield Service Company must face and solve.
Triol Corporation suggests as a solution the Triol SKID (further SKID), which will allow the Oil Company and Oilfield Service Company to:

Reduce the installation time of surface equipment at the site;

Increase personnel safety when commissioning the equipment;
-
Decrease surface equipment logistics costs;
-
Reduce additional costs for surface equipment; and
-
Increase the comfort of personnel when operating the equipment.
SKID is an open box with or without an operator’s compartment in which the AK06 VSD is installed, as well as a step-down transformer (SDT), a step-up transformer (SUT), and an electrical interconnection for the components.

Any VSD from the available Triol product line can be integrated into the SKID according to the customer’s requirements. You can learn more about Triol VFDs from our “Variable Speed Drive Triol AK06 Product Catalog”.
- The design as an open block box allows you to get away from the preparation of sites and foundations for the installation of equipment, as well as operations on the mounting of equipment. To install SKID, you only need to have a level surface.
- The “SDT-AK06-VSD-SUT” can be wired in the customer’s workshop or at the factory, and the user only needs to connect the input line and motor on site.
- One can perform installation and commissioning work in moderate conditions, without delay for better weather conditions.
- Due to the fact that the SKID design is completely enclosed, the probability of electric shock injury to workers is practically zero. This design also prevents unauthorized personnel from entering the high-voltage zone, which is achieved by separating the high-voltage and low-voltage zones (see Fig. 2).

- Installation of equipment and the connection of SKID to the power mains are protected by design from direct ingress of precipitation, which increases the safety of work performed while complying with industry standards.
- The SKID’s modular design allows delivery to the customer in separate parts (main part and roof), while the main part already includes accessories according to the customer’s choice (AK06 VSD, SDT, SUT), which reduces handling costs.

- When moving between sites, it is enough to disconnect the SKID from the mains and the power load, and then load it on transport and unload it at the new site.
- When moving within the field it is enough to disconnect the SKID from the power supply and the power load and drag the SKID on the ground using the skids at the bottom of the block box (see Fig. 4).

Reducing the additional cost of surface equipment is achieved by customizing the SKID offer.
Triol offers several SKID delivery options:
- Block box with installed AK06 VSD. The solution is suitable if the customer has new SDTs and SUTs in stock or has the ability to use SDTs and SUTs from the current field.
- Block box with installed AK06 VSD + SUT. The solution is suitable if the customer has a new SDT in stock, it is possible to use an SDT from the current field or if there is no need to use an SDT (which is achieved by respecting the pulse and supply voltage and the AK06 VSD).
- Block box with installed AK06 VSD + SDT. The solution is suitable if the customer has new SUTs in stock or if it is possible to use SUTs from the current field.
All this allows the user to choose the best SKID layout for him.
SKID can be equipped with an operator compartment, in which a workstation with the following elements is available to increase the comfort of working with the equipment:
- lightning
- sockets 220 V, 2 kW
- air conditioning
- control device VSD АК06
All this allows optimal working conditions. One can control and configure the equipment without leaving the room.
